Paniela (“the service”) plans your weekly menus around grocery specials. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Applicable laws
We process your personal information in accordance with Quebec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector) and Canada's federal PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).
Data we collect
When you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture. In the app: your household name and postal code, the stores you shop at, the recipes you import or enter, and your food preferences.
How we use it
Only to run the service: to sign you in, find specials in your area, and generate your menus and shopping list. The basis for processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your account. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Cookies
We use only cookies essential to operation: a secure session cookie (NextAuth) to keep you signed in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Third parties
Google (sign-in), our database host (Neon), and our flyer data source (Flipp) to fetch specials for your area. No other sharing, and no sale of your data.
Hosting & transfers outside Quebec
Your data is hosted on cloud servers (Neon, PostgreSQL) and may be processed outside Quebec and Canada, notably in the United States, by our providers (Google, Neon, Vercel, Flipp). These providers are required to ensure protection comparable to what is required here.
Security
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted data access, and per-household isolation. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Retention & deletion
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the Account page.
Your rights
You may access, correct and delete your information, and request its portability (a copy in a structured, commonly used technological format). You may withdraw your consent at any time. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI).
